- The U.S. Small Business Association announced the winners of their 2nd annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition. Congrats to the four GAN winners, Lighthouse Labs, Mergelane, Start Co., and Iowa Startup Accelerator!

- Boomtown launched a pop-up school for professionals who want to learn what’s new and what’s next in the digital, technology, and startup scene.

- JumpStart Foundry is taking a different approach to demo day this year. In August they’re hosting Health:Further, a learning conference in conjunction with a demo day event with a full day of expert industry speakers and startup pitches.

- Flat6Labs is expanding their reach to entrepreneurs in the MENA region by launching a new location in Lebanon, Beirut.

- AeroInnovate’s inaugural class graduated from the first ever aviation accelerator in the U.S. in July at the Pitch and Mingle event held during the annual Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture.

- Gener8tor is launching a new program called G-Beta, focused specifically on Wisconsin University graduates, they are taking no equity and not charging any fees for this program.

- Lightning Lab is opening New Zealand’s first ever hardware accelerator, it’s primary focus will be on manufacturing.

- The CTIA Startups Lab accepted startups from seven GAN members for this September’s program to accelerate connections and investment of startups in the mobile industry. The selected startups came from Mucker Capital, Gener8tor, Jumpstart Foundry, Chinaccelerator, Microsoft Ventures, Startup Reykjavik and the ARK Challenge.
