Icelandic Startups has been fostering the grass root of entrepreneurship for over a decade with various initiatives and support ranging from the seed of an idea to international expansion. Icelandic Startups is a non-profit organisation, and the largest privately-owned supporter of startups in Iceland. We are supported by some of the most forward-thinking companies in Iceland to provide services free of charge.
Icelandic Startups runs three programs a year, each with a specific industry focus:
Hringiða
Industry: Circular economy
Hringidu is intended to promote, strengthen and support new technologies and methods that actually solve emerging environmental issues with a view to enabling participants at the end of the acceleration to present their projects to investors and apply for grants from the European Fund that support projects that reduce emissions. Up to ten teams are selected into the accelerator through a thorough application process. The accelerator lasts for ten weeks and is divided into three phases; design, implementation, and presentation. Learn more and apply here.

Startup Supernova
Industry: Agnostic
Startup SuperNova is a springboard for start-up companies and a unique platform for the development of innovative projects by more established companies. Startup SuperNova is based on internationally proven methodology and many years of Icelandic Startups experience in supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups. Up to ten teams are selected into the accelerator each year through a thorough application process and a financial grant of ISK 1,000,000 is offered. as well as access to fully equipped work facilities. The accelerator lasts for ten weeks and ends with an investor day. The accelerator is divided into three phases; design, implementation, and presentation. Learn more and apply here.

Til sjávar og sveita: TO THE SEA AND THE COUNTRYSIDE
Industry: Food & Food Tech
This program targets companies that are ready with a product or have come a long way in product development and intend to enter the market or increase marketing efforts domestically and abroad. The accelerator will run for four weeks, starting on November 15 and ending with harvest day on December 10. A four-week market accelerator is a recognized method for accelerating companies through the complex process of entering the market. Great emphasis is placed on connecting companies with experienced people from the business world who come in as mentors. The goal of the accelerator is for the companies to be at the end of the accelerator with a sustainable plan for their own marketing efforts. Learn more and apply here.
