Tampa Bay Wave, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing local entrepreneurs with facilitated access to the resources, expertise, and capital they need to grow vibrant technology-based companies in Tampa Bay and create high wage tech jobs, thus fostering an innovation-based economy for the region. Since March 2013, Tampa Bay Wave has supported more than 200 tech startups in Tampa Bay.

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

Each of Tampa Bay Wave’s cohorts are punctuated with an amazing Demo Day event that has proven to be a valuable opportunity to connect with our vast investor network and our ecosystem at large. The event draws 150+ attendees and has generated capital and connections for our cohort companies.

 

BenefitsCriteria

Tech Enabled Company located in the Greater Tampa Bay Region currently or on track to meet their Launch or Grow Criteria within the next 12 months.

  • Market Validation & Sales: Paying customers and/or paid pilots. Prefer at least $100,000 in sales and/or significant market traction.
  • Dedicated Management Team: The founding team is full-time and exclusively focused on the company
  • Investable Business: Existing pitch assets and/or an angel round of at least $100,000
  • Governance & Legal Structure: Executed Operating Agreement
  • Accounting & Finance: Existing budget and financial model with a qualified accounting platform
  • Business Plan: Documented, viable and scalable
  • Financial runaway of at least 6-12 months
  • Membership Fee: $4,800 annually per company

Launch Criteria

  • Company must meet or exceed the Launch stage criteria
  • Annual Revenue and/or Capital Raised: $1M in annual recurring revenue or $1M Series A or above
  • Scalable Marketing & Sales Process: Can demonstrate results and repeatable market traction
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Active and documented operating processes and procedures
  • Accounting & Finance: Existing budget and financial model with a qualified accounting platform
  • Executive Management Team: Three or more full-time members
  • Team Growth: At least 10 full-time employees
  • Human Resources: Active and documented operating processes and procedures
  • Advisory Board: Recommended
  • Membership Fee: $4,800 annually per company

Grow Criteria

  • Company must meet or exceed the Launch stage criteria
